Emily Ziegler is the Executive Director of Local Government Affairs for UNC Health and Executive Advisor at UNC Health Rex. In her roles she focuses on local government and
community affairs, contributes to all functions of the larger external affairs team and provides strategic guidance and operational support to Rex executives. She joined the UNC Health team in 2016 as the Director of Government Affairs for UNC Rex and then moved into her current role in early 2020.
Emily has 15+ years of experience in the government affairs and community relations profession in both non-profit and corporate settings. Prior to joining UNC Health, she was the
Vice President of Government Affairs at the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and previously held positions at the North Carolina Retail Merchants Association, Capstrat and
North Carolina Forum for Research and Economic Education (NCFREE).
She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Morrisville Chamber of Commerce, North Carolina Business Council for Education, Triangle Family Services and West Raleigh Alliance.
Emily is a graduate of Georgia Tech and resides in Cary with her family.
